5 Mistakes To Avoid During Winter Season For A Healthy & Glowing Skin Throughout The Year.

Flakiness, irritation and other skin problems can be caused due to extreme dryness of your skin because of the fall in temperature and change in the air pressure. And the outer layer of the skin will be prone to injury from extreme winds. Additionally, indoor heating can also cause water loss from your skin. Due to water loss, you may have dull and damaged skin because of the damage in the skin barrier.

With a few guidelines, you can avoid all of these very easily. You can have healthy and shining skin throughout the year if you just do not make these wintertime skincare mistakes which you often do.
Skincare Mistakes That You Should Avoid:
1. Showering In Hot Water
When we shower with hot water, skin oil is removed. By increasing skin regulation, hot water also causes irritation. That’s why after taking a hot shower your skin looks red. Decrease the temperature of the water and handle your skin gently in the winters. Or go for a regular hot shower and wash out through cooler water just before getting out of the shower.
2. Use Proper Moisturizer
Due to humidity you lose less water in the summer. But in winter your body became completely drained. When the lipids and proteins present in the skin got damaged, your body becomes more sensitive. Choose a moisturizer that has oil in it to reduce the loss of lipids. Go for botanical oils such as sunflower, jojoba, avocado, squalane, castor seed, coconut, ceramides etc. They’ll help you in replacing lost skin oils . Cocoa butter and Shea are conventional emollients also.
3. Not Staying Hydrated
Water is an essential part of everyone’s life. Lack of it will show up in the form of tight, dry and flaky skin. If your skin is dry it becomes more vulnerable to wrinkles and has low resilience. Generally, it is advised to drink at least 8 (2L) glasses of water daily to remove toxins from your skin and keep it healthy. Dehydration can cause cracked lips too.
4. Not Applying Enough Sunscreen
It doesn’t matter how cold the wind is or how dark are the skies, your skin, throughout the year remains vulnerable against the UV rays. UV rays can cause sunspots, premature aging and many other problems. Many people think that UV protection is not necessary in the winters, as UV rays are not very intense during winters. Applying a good quality sunscreen before going out of the house can keep your skin healthy.
5. Not Surfacing Skincare Properly
First and most important thing to do is hydration. Use a mild cleaner that is also moisturizing to wash your face. Select natural products with a capability of hydrating your skin for 24 to 72 hours. Go for a cream-based moisturizer if you have oily or normal skin. Try to scrub and peel as well. You can use sunscreen after that, mainly if you often have to go outside the house.
Make sure to not make any of the above mentioned mistakes in skincare, during the winter season to get a fresh and glowing skin.
