5 Tips & Tricks To Fight Seasonal Allergies
Dry winters have entered India and so has the allergy season too. Flu, cough, cold, eye irritation, and throat infection are common diseases in this season. Allergies are caused because of smog, pollution, pollen, dust and other environmental factors that are responsible.
Everyone has to face these allergies, whether he/she is an adult or a little child. If you want a fast solution for it, take an anti-allergy pill. But it is only a primary solution for it. Building a stronger immune system can be a good solution for traditional allergies.

1. Improve Liver Health
A sluggish liver is a big reason for our proneness to seasonal allergies, since, body cannot remove the toxins effectively in this case. A remedy to improve your livers performance is a combination of 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice each consumed on an empty stomach early in the morning for continuous three days. If you take apple cider vinegar 30 minutes before your meals, it can also improve your liver performance.
2. Quercetin-Rich Food
Quercetin is a polyphenol found in plants and is full of immunity-boosting and antioxidant effects. It demonstrates an anti-allergic immune response in the body. SImplest way to quercetin is to add a few slices of raw onion to your meals. In case you are allergic to onions or avoid it due to some religious reasons, go for apples, grapes, crucifers, citrus fruits, or berries which are quercetin rich too.
3. Get Rid Of Excess Mucus
Mucus helps trap dirt, pollutants and allergens, but excess of it can work as a nurturine ground for pathogens as they propagate in moist environments. Herbs and spices like cardamom, thyme, oregano, and licorice when mashed into tea releases the mucus. Bromelain found in pineapples also works as a medicine. Nasal irrigation or Jal neti yogic kriya also helps in clearing up the respiratory tracts.
4. Consume Honey Infused With Garlic
Both honey and garlic have great immunity-boosting properties. Take 10 to 12 cloves of garlic and crush them to release allicin, an active ingredient. Add it to a jar with fresh organic honey. Wait for around 3 days to settle. Take 2 tablespoons of this paste everyday. It will boost your liver health and enable you to combat seasonal allergies.
5. Know The Allergy Symptoms
If you have had allergies all your life, be aware of the signs that your body indicates. Runny nose, itchy eyes, nasal congestion, fatigue, sneezing, scratchy throat, headaches, etc. are some of the general allergy symptoms. When you feel any one of these,ensure to take the important precautions to avoid making the situation worse.
