The BCCI also confirmed that KL Rahul and Axar Patel will miss the New Zealand series owing to family obligations, while Ravindra Jadeja has been added in the Test team subject to his health.
“The All-India Senior Selection Panel has picked India’s squads for the 2019 Mastercard New Zealand Tour of India,” the BCCI said in a statement.
Jasprit Bumrah will also be absent for the first two Tests. The first Test will take place in Nagpur on February 9.
The All-India Senior Selection Committee selected the India squad for the next white-ball home series against New Zealand on Friday (January 13), as well as the team for the very first two Tests against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023.
